A Hundred Streets Home is a story about a broken womans reconciliation with her past. Told by Kwamboka, the storyteller, it follows her life; from a life of pri...vilege as a child, to the wise, strong and experienced woman she grows to be. It is a story of love and loss; family and friends; despair, but yet ultimately hope. Set in Africa, the story traces her life back to her beloved farm and home in Kisii where she spent most of her happy childhood. A devastating blow to her fathers political career wrenches her from the security of this home, and changes her life and that of her family forever. Kwamboka, albeit a very intelligent girl, makes many mistakes and suffers many losses before she finally grows into her own. Struggling to come to terms with what became of life as she knew it, following her fathers fall from grace, she deals with difficulties in her relationships with friends and family and a disastrous relationship that almost costs her her life. Finally, a traumatic experience sets her on the path of self-discovery, and on a journey to reclaim what she lost.
